As part of Touch NZ’s commitment to recognize the efforts, service and contributions that the members of Touch NZ make to the organization, we are pleased to announce that the Touch NZ biannual awards process is starting again.  The list of Touch NZ Award recipients between 1998 and January 2024 is contained in appendix 3.

In line with the Touch NZ Awards undertaken in the 2010-2011 season and taking into account the need to be cost efficient and effective, the presentation of Touch NZ Awards to award recipients will take place at locations/dates to be negotiated with the recipients, at the local and provincial levels.  Additionally, the awards could be presented in conjunction with the Touch NZ National Championship programme in the 2024-2025 season.

Applications/nominations are to be submitted to Touch NZ for Touch NZ awards by the following dates:

1          Touch NZ Award nominations (excluding Life Membership) are to be are to be submitted by Friday 31 May 2024 in accordance with the requirements in the Touch NZ Awards Policy and Procedures.

2          Life Membership nominations are to be submitted by Friday 31 May 2024 in accordance with the Touch NZ Constitution and in the form required in the Touch NZ Awards Policy and Procedures.

As Touch NZ has revamped its policies and procedures in regard to Touch NZ awards, all previous nominations made to Touch NZ that were unsuccessful, will need to be resubmitted in the new templates for these nominations to be reconsidered.

All nominations must be made in the forms attached in the Touch NZ Awards Policy and Procedures:

• Appendix 1: Touch NZ summary information for Touch NZ Board of Directors on nominee for Touch NZ awards
• Appendix 2: Touch NZ summary information for Touch NZ Board of Directors on nominee for Touch NZ life membership award

They must be submitted in electronic form only (Microsoft Word format) to speed up the process of dealing with what we believe may be a large number of nominations.  Nominations that are not received in the correct format will not be accepted for processing.  Any supporting letters should be in PDF format.  Handwritten nominations using appendix 1 and 2 will not be accepted.

The Nominations in the correct forms are to be emailed to the Chair the Touch NZ Awards Committee Darrin Sykes (who only assumes the Chair role by his appointment as the Chair of the Touch NZ Judicial, Legal and Constitutional Committee) at: darrin.sykes@icloud.com with “Touch NZ Awards nomination” in the subject line by the deadline dates indicated above.
