Touch is more than a game. It’s a way to grow, connect, and thrive – together.

Welcome to Touch New Zealand! We’re not just a sport – we’re a movement that connects communities, builds whānau, and strengthens Aotearoa.

As a registered incorporated society and a proud Charities Commission member, Touch NZ has its national office in Mt Wellington, Auckland. But make no mistake - our real presence is nationwide.

With 19 Provincial Associations and over 220 local Touch competitions, we’re active in every corner of the country, from urban centres to rural towns.

Touch NZ is guided by a simple idea: better people make better players. We use sport as a tool to create positive ripple effects – from the field, to the home, to the wider community. Our vision is to support the physical, emotional, and social wellbeing of every player, coach, supporter, and whānau member involved in our sport.

At the heart of our approach is a commitment to a whānau-centric strategy – where collective wellbeing, cultural identity, and community ties are celebrated and strengthened.

Why we're here

Touch isn’t just something you play – it’s something you live. It’s woven into the social fabric of New Zealand, and it’s the country’s go-to social team sport during summer. Since 2017, we’ve embraced a fresh, values-driven strategic direction that puts people at the centre of everything we do.

We believe our diverse membership is a mirror of Aotearoa itself – full of challenges, potential, and incredible strength. Through the sport of Touch, we aim to uplift communities, promote healthy lifestyles, and build connections that last beyond the field.

Our Values

Our strategy

Our strategy is built on enduring respect for the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a deep commitment to Te Ao Māori. These are not just acknowledgements - they’re the foundations of our identity and vision.

We're working towards a future where Touch NZ is a driver of wellbeing across Aotearoa.
